I only learned today of Mrs. Eaves passing. She was my 5th grade teacher at Pond Springs elementary in Chickamauga. She had us write a Halloween story and picked mine as the best ( it was the first time I was the best at anything) she took me home to spend the night and we went to see Lassie Come Home. She talked to me and encouraged me to continue writing ( which I have). She was a great teacher and I am honored and blessed to have known her.

I was fortunate to meet Sandra Eaves and her beloved dog Bebe (sp?) at The Bridge at South Pittsburg (TN). They both touched my heart and life. I'm so sorry to learn of her passing. I know Bebe will miss her too. I loved them both. May her loved ones find comfort and support in friends and family and peace and strength in the LORD.

Ms. Eaves was the best! She inspired me in so many ways. She was my 4th and 5th grade teacher at Pond Springs Elementary in Chickamauga. She introduced me to the Civil War, Gone with the Wind, and Goober Peas. Oh how we loved to sing Goober Peas and other songs from the Civil War. She is the reason I love history and she is also the one who inspired me to become a teacher. She truly loved her "kids". I will always be thankful to have had such a wonderful teacher. She was the best!

Sandra, my sweet cousin, was our family historian. She spent many hours traveling and researching our family history, for which we are very grateful. She was a great Mom and Grandmother, a wonderful teacher and a good friend to everyone. Sandra we love and miss you.

I am so sorry for your loss, Sandra worked for/with me at Po Folks. She was such a kind person, we enjoyed playing Trivial Pursuit with her after work on the weekends. This truly breaks my heart. Prayers for your family.

I have the fondest memories of Mrs. Eaves she was so kind to us though she could be quite intimidating at times. I remember her taking us to her home for a special over the night stay and a movie. :-) He definitely was my favorite elementary teacher 5th grade Pond Springs she was only 24 at the time! My prayers be with you!

I remember The Secret Garden....I watched along on P.B.S.....You were so fun and funny! You taught us to dream and think about things. You gave us hope that anything was possible if we worked for it. You had a sneaky way of telling a good story. (many of your own true ones) I will never never forget your mysterious twinkle Mrs. Eaves. Enjoy The Ride! You Were Loved.

I was out of town this weekend and only saw the post about Sandra passing today. I am so sorry that she left although I know she has been having health problems for a while. A few months ago, I went to Siskin's Rehab to see her because Eddy said she was there but, she had been discharged that day. I am so sad that I did not get to see her but, I will some day! She was a good friend of my sister, Elaine, and we loved her very much. I hope Eddy gets to read this because I know how he feels since Elaine died several years ago. I am very sad for all of you and will keep you in my prayerws.

She was such a inspiring and fantastic person. She taught much more than academics she taught us about compassion, hope and how to dream. She was so instrumental in how I overcame adversity and taught me that yes I was worthy of love. Each time I seen her as an adult she would say "I still have Miss Hickory" a token of a child's love for her teacher made for a book report diorama. She treated it like it was gold as she treated me. She gave me a love for the south thru Gone with the wind and a desire for adventure with the state reports we did, yes I did make it to Wyoming and further. She was much more than a teacher, she was our greatest advocate and cheerleader a mentor and coach, a soft shoulder to cry on and a compass that pointed true north when we lost our way. She never judged or criticized but gently nudged us back on the right path. Looking at ourselves in the mirror of her perception of us made us believe we could do more, achieve great and change the world around us making it beautiful. I only hope that we made it as lovely as her. I loved her not just as my teacher but my family and my friend. My prayers for her family and her child that I know she loved dearly.

Sandra fought her battle for a long time. We pray that she is now resting in peace, free of pain and suffering. No more sorrow; no more tears. She will be missed.
