Georgia Josephine “Jo” Burns, 84, of Rossville, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017.  Jo was born in Chattanooga on July 9, 1932 to parents, Rawls and Gretchen Durham.  She was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia area and member of Lakeview Wesleyan.  Jo was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years Donald Burns; sons, Richard, Bobby, and Billy Burns; one brother, and 5 sisters.

Mrs. Burns is survived by her son, Larry Burns, Lafayette; daughters, Sue Lower, Jamestown, TN, and Tina Hensley, Greenville, TN; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Thursday, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dan Barton officiating.  Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family would like to thank Jo’s nephew, Raymond Byrd, for the love and care he provided during recent years.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, 5-8 PM, at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
