Wilma “Ruby” Daniel, 96, Rossville, loving mother and grandmother, died Saturday, June 15 in a local nursing home.
She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga/North Georgia area and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Mrs. Daniel was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her two young children after the untimely death of her husband. She was known for her enjoyment of reading, her jigsaw puzzle skills, and for her occasional sharp tongue.
Mrs. Daniel was preceded in death by her parents William J. and Minnie McCrary, her husband Lige Daniel, stepson Richard Daniels, six sisters, three brothers, and her two grand-dogs (Isis and Angie). She is survived by son Ben (Carol Princing) Daniel of Ringgold, daughter Brenda (Ron) Heffner of Ooltewah, grandson Ray (Meg) Heffner of Snellville, GA, grandson Nathan (Meghan) Daniel of Johnson City, TN, granddaughter Anna Laura (Chris) Rhudy of Johnson City, TN, step-grandson Allen Daniels of Dunlap, TN, great-grandsons Isaac and Mason Daniel of Johnson City, TN, brother Clifford McCrary of Durham, NC, sister Dorothy Crawley of Chapparel, NM, sister Alice Felix of Section, AL, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her latest grand-dog Sadie.
Funeral services will be held Noon, Tuesday in the funeral home chapel Rev. Steve Webster officiating. The family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Tennessee-Georgia Cemetery-Rossville, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Recreation Fund of NHC Rossville at 1425 McFarland Ave., Rossville, Ga 30741 or to the Humane Educational Society at 212 N. Highland Park Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404. The family would like to thank the outstanding staff at NHC Rossville for the loving care they provided for the last five years.
