Vance Timothy Templeton

Vance Timothy Templeton, 74, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 1st, 2021. 

He was born on February 23rd, 1947 in Nebraska to the late Rev. Clayton and Nina Templeton. 

At a young age, Vance’s parents moved their family to the mission field.  Vance grew up in Brazil as the second born of 6 kids, where he learned and spoke Portuguese fluently.  Upon graduating, he moved to the U.S. where he attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL.  To help pay for his schooling he drove a city bus, as well as washed windows at the school as part of a work-study program.  This experience would prove to be handy later in life with his chosen career path as the owner of the small business “The Window Washer”.

He moved to Chattanooga, TN to attend Tennessee Temple College as a Psychology major.  It is here that he met and married his wife of nearly 49 years, Nancy Beldin Templeton in 1972.  The two together have 3 daughters whom they raised to love and serve the Lord.

Vance’s pride and joy was his family.  He was always a very involved and hands-on dad: taking them camping, to work with him, on family trips to see their grandparents, a vacation to Brazil to see where he grew up, and a once in a lifetime trip to Europe in 1996.  He also adored and enjoyed time with each grandchild as they were added to the close-knit family.  He was an example of devotion to his wife and family all of his years.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy Beldin Templeton; daughters, Cristy Salley and husband Michael, Misty Roszell and husband Shannon, Cindy Tankersley and husband Keith; grand-children Eli, Abby, and Emmy Salley, Ava, Micah, Josiah, and Noah Roszell, Lucas and Lucianna Tankersley. 

We mourn our loss, but celebrate his gain of the glory of eternity in heaven.
