Tribute

Jonathan Timothy Walker, of Chattanooga, died unexpectedly on March 19, 2020, at his home in Hixson.

Tim was born August 27, 1969, to Alvin and Bonnie Walker in Centralia, Illinois. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Tim worked as a corporal in the Corrections Office of the Hamilton County Sheriff until his health pulled him away. Tim loved to hike, tell awful jokes, and smoke cigars. He was a craftsman and loved making handmade Native American necklaces and knives. He treasured a collection of Native American memorabilia given to him by his parents-in-law, Donald and Eileen Bone.

He loved working part-time at Burns’ Tobacconist and regaling unsuspecting customers with tall tales and cigar reviews. But mostly, Tim loved to help others.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Walker, his wife, Ann Bone Walker, and their son Luke Walker, as well as his siblings: Karen Howard, Jay Walker, Bradley Walker, Lori Morris, Brian Walker, Rebecca Rock, and Marty Hustad, and all their spouses, and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was predeceased by his father, World War II veteran Alvin Walker, in February of 2017.

The family plans a memorial service once the coronavirus threat has passed. No flowers, please.

Memorial contributions should be made in Tim’s name to the charity of your choice.
