Shawn Burton

Michael “Shawn” Burton was born June 21st, 1961 in Chattanooga, TN. On Saturday, May 14th, 2022 at the age of 60, we sadly said goodbye to the most innocent and beautiful soul we have ever known. Shawn’s laughter and happy sounds were contagious and nothing was more comforting than a good head rub or a pat on his little hand. All these precious traits will be greatly missed.

Our Shawny left this earth and entered the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. Finally, healthy and whole! Free from the shackles of lifelong limitations. Finally, free to express himself fully! Though our hearts are broken, we can only imagine the joyous homecoming! With Shawn’s light shining, Heaven is now a much brighter place.

With much gratitude, the family would like to thank the many people who sincerely and lovingly cared for Shawn throughout the years. We also want to thank all the prayer warriors that lifted Shawn up and stood with us.

Shawn is survived by his Loving Mother, Beverly Morris and Devoted Sister, Shana Morris; Stepdad, Barrett Morris; Sister, Stacy Morris; Aunt, Carol (Bruce) Lebovitz; Uncle, David (Stephanie) Saluk; Nieces, Laiken and Alexis Williams; Special Friends, Sam Lawless and Ossama Saleh, plus numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Mabel and Joe Saluk; Aunt, Sylvia (Freddie) Seligman.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday 4-7 PM, at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe, GA.

Graveside service will be Thursday 10:30 AM  with Darien Cooper officiating at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a nonprofit organization for the developmentally disabled.
