Sanford “Sandy” Daniel, 80, of Rock Spring went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at his home. He was a life-long resident of the North Georgia area and was a member at Peavine Baptist Church for over 30 years. He attended Gordon Lee High School Class of 1958 and then West Georgia and then the University of Georgia. Sandy was a retired supervisor at Velsicol Chemical Company for 33 years. Mr. Daniel was an avid hunter and owned Sandy’s Taxidermy Shop in Rock Spring. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Madalyn Daniel.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Phyllis Daniel; sons, Todd Daniel (Kellye Bell) and David (Alicia) Daniel; daughter, Sonya Quarles; sister, Patty Jean Eldridge; grandchildren, Cade Daniel, Lauren (Read) Walden, Landen Quarles, Taylor Quarles and Kyle Quarles; great-grandchildren, Braxton Quarles, Kaylie Quarles and Tessa Quarles; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 1 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Joel Sutherland and Blair Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the Peavine Baptist Church Cemetery.
