Robert Shelton

August 29, 1950 ~ July 9, 2017 (age 66) 66 Years Old

   Robert Alan Shelton,  died Sunday,  July 9, 2017 at his home in Chickamauga, Georgia after a courageous battle with lymphoma.

 

A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, he was an all-star athlete who excelled in football, basketball, and baseball; a devoted employee for Piccadilly Restaurants where he served as general manager and operating partner for 27 years until his illness; and a member of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church in Chickamauga, Georgia.

 

Most importantly, he was a devoted family member.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Sylvia Shelton; and his infant sister, Kristie Renee Shelton. 

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Nancy; his son Ronald of East Ridge, Tennessee; his daughter Susan Grissom (Mike) of Ashburn, Virginia and their two sons Mikey (9) and CJ (6).

 

Also mourning his loss are his two sisters, Annette Parker of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee and Bettye Lane of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

 

He also leaves behind an extended family of dearly loved in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

 

In keeping with Robert’s wishes no services will be held. 

 

To honor his memory, it was his wish that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org) to help ease the suffering of others affected by blood cancers.
