Robbie Jo Fletcher, 94, of Fort Oglethorpe went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 9, 2021. She was a life-long resident of the Chattanooga/North Georgia area and a charter member of First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe where she served for nearly 70 years teaching children in Sunday School, singing in the choir and as Director of the Children’s Sunday School Department. Miss Fletcher was a member of the BellSouth Pioneers. Robbie was an AT&T management retiree after 40 plus years of service. She served on the Board of Directors for Family and Children Services and helped with county elections.
She was preceded in death by her father Mark Fletcher, Sr./Arvil H. Pierce; mother, Lillian Beasley Fletcher Pierce; brothers, Mark (Tressie) Fletcher and Raymond (Bernice) Beasley; and sister, Louise Fletcher.
Survivors include her brothers, Ron (Barbara) (Karen) Pierce and Harold (Yuvonne) Pierce; nieces and nephews, Melanie (Darvin) Poole, Teresa (Scott) Collison, Patrice (Hank) Humphrey, Julie (Jeff) Wright, Robbie Louise (Mike) Leonard, Bryan (Susie) Pierce, Jeff (Michelle) Fletcher, Brent Pierce and Lisa (Ken) Laughon.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Rosewood and Tapestry Hospice and Robbie’s personal care givers for their excellent, loving care.
A small graveside service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South with Pastor Jason Thomas officiating. A celebration of life party will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Free To Be Campaign of Fort Oglethorpe First Baptist Church.
