Rita Treadwell

Rita Shook Treadwell completed her duties on this earth to stand before our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

Rita graduated from Ringgold High School in 1964.  She played the saxophone and B team basketball for the Tigers.  Rita was an amazing, kind, loving, child of God.  She was the best mother anyone could have asked for.  The lessons Rita taught her family were priceless.  She loved everyone and treated everyone like family.  If she had it, and you needed it, you got it.  She loved crocheting, Atlanta Braves baseball and football.  Her love of music was like no other.  She loved everything from R&B to Rock to Gospel.  She also loved to study and share God’s word.  She had a passion for feeding and giving to those who had less than her.  She was the true definition of what selflessness is. 

Rita was proceeded in death by her parents JM Shook Jr. and Freddie Mae Shook of Ringgold.  Rita has 2 daughters, Cheryl L Koehler (Ron Normal), of Ringgold, GA, and Rebecca Treadwell of Rock Spring, GA.  Rita was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Shelbii Gentry (Matthew Gentry) of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, Brodie Norman of Ringgold, GA, Samantha Lunsford of Chattanooga, TN, Brandon and Victoria Lunsford of Fort Oglethorpe, GA and a great-granddaughter Aubree Kay Lunsford due April 2020.

Rita wanted everyone who would read this to know: “You must have Jesus as your savior and a relationship with him and if you do, I will see you on the other side!”
