Raymond Hershel Parrish

Raymond Parrish, 93, of Fort Oglethorpe went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 13, 1928 in Russellville, Alabama to the late Carlton and Myrtle Parrish and had lived in the North Georgia area for the past 69 years. Raymond was a member of the Delray Baptist Church where he was a member of the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class. Mr. Parrish was a member of the Rossville Lodge #397 F&AM where he served two terms as a Past Master. He retired from the trucking industry after more than 38 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, watching Alabama Football, the Atlanta Braves and Western movies.
 
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Louise Parrish.
 
Survivors include his son, Michael (Rita) Parrish of Chickamauga; daughters, Judy (Robert) Jackson of Fort Oglethorpe and Bobbie (Wayne) Arnold of Ringgold; grandchildren, Melissa Hilton, Jeni Burnside, Ray Parrish, Amy Nelson, Stephanie Meredith, Nathaniel Arnold and Rebecca Millott; along with numerous great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lavonne Powell and Rev. Jimmy Wease officiating. Interment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
