Ray Allen Scruggs

Ray “Red” Allen Scruggs, 58, of Ringgold, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019.  Ray Allen was born October 30, 1960, in Chattanooga, TN.  He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, of the Baptist faith, and attended Ringgold High School.  He loved listening to music, going for walks in Chickamauga Battlefield National Park, drawing, and learning history.  He is preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Scruggs Sr.; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Frank McDade and Mr. & Mrs. Leon Holcomb; and niece Angela Scruggs.

Survivors are his mother, Virginia McDade Scruggs, Ringgold; brother, Eddie Scruggs, Ringgold; sister, Deborah (Jay) Turner, Selmer, TN; special uncles, Carl (Isolde) and Clyde (Kellie) McDade; Aunt Patricia Long; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bryan Haney officiating.  Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
