Pete Moore

James “Pete” L. Moore, 79, of Rossville, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.  Pete was born January 18, 1940, in Rossville, GA, to the late Jesse and Elvie Moore. Pete was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church.  He was a 1958 graduate of Rossville High School, and graduated from the University of Chattanooga in 1962 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. Pete retired from Rossville Mills after 43 years of service as Director of Industrial Engineering; Plant Manager; and Director of Industrial Relations. He was a member of Rossville City Council, and served as Vice Mayor 1975 – 1979. Pete was also a past President of Rossville High School Alumni Association, a member of Walker County Development Authority, a member of the Board of Directors at Hutcheson Health Enterprise, Inc., and a member of the Board of Directors for Rossville Bank and Community National Bank. He ran seven marathons, two of which were in Boston.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Linda Moore. 

Survivors are his sons, Scott (Robin) Moore, Chickamauga, Greg (Leslie) Moore, Melbourne, FL; brother, Joe (Barbara) Moore, Rossville; grandchildren, Brittany, Alyx, and Caroline Moore; and great-grandchild, Parker Chilton.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Monday, in the funeral home chapel with Deborah Dickerson and Dr. David Harr & officiating.  Interment will be in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.
