Nelle Marie Slatton

Nelle Marie Slatton, 93, of Ft. Oglethorpe, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 2, 2020. Born in Tracy City, TN, December 22, 1926, she was the last surviving child of the late George and Martha Graham. Nelle was a resident of Ft. Oglethorpe for 60 years, and was a member of Fort Oglethorpe Calvary Memorial Baptist Church. Her greatest joys in life were her family and grandchildren, her dog Mona, and gardening.

Nelle was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James W. Slatton, 10 siblings, and her daughter, Martha “Marty” Slatton Blevins, and daughter-in-law, Gwen Slatton.

She is survived by sons James “Pete” (Lynda) Slatton of Ringgold and Robert “Butch” Slatton of Ft. Oglethorpe, five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Stanley Carpenger officiating.  Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
