Nannie Lou Sampson, 97, of Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Mrs. Sampson was a long-time member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She was retired from Standard Coosa Thatcher’s after 37 years of service and then cooked at Aunt Effie’s Restaurant until the age of 90. Mrs. Sampson was widowed at the age of 41. She was a strong woman throughout her life, overcoming many obstacles to lead a long life of serving others.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Wiley (J.W.) Sampson; parents, James and Myrtle Green; and her brother, Leslie Green.
Survivors include her daughters, Martha (Ellis) Eaker and Nancy (Gary) Hullender; grandchildren, Travis (Julie) Eaker, Wade (Diane) Hullender and Chad (Serena) Hullender; great-grandchildren, Jake Eaker, Madeline Hullender, Triston Hullender and Conner Hullender; step great-grandchildren, Madison Bledsoe and Gracie Bledsoe; niece, Yolanda Green; nephew, Garry Green and sister-in-law, Virginia Green.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon on Friday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Randy Chestnutt and Bro. Gary Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
