Nancy Lorene Austin

Nancy Lorene Austin, 94, of Fort Oglethorpe passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Nancy was born October 27, 1928 in Fort Payne, AL to the late C.P. Wells and Ola Mae Stout Wells. She was a lifelong resident of the Rossville/Fort Oglethorpe area and member of First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe. She was a very active member who volunteered when she could. She belonged to the Keenagers Group and the Lydia Sunday School Class. The only thing she loved more than gardening and embroidery was spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Tanner B. Austin; son in law, Terry Bryant; siblings, Oliver Wells, Curtis Wells, Frank Wells, Jessie Heard and Mary Dell Morris.

Survivors include her children, Glen ( Rhonda) Austin and Debbie Bryant; grandchildren, Nicholas (Amanda) and Dax Smith; great-grandchilden, Tara and Elliot; sister, Flora Wallin; sister in law, Ruth Wells; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Monday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jason Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
