Michael Alan Wingrove

February 17, 1947 ~ January 6, 2021 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Tribute

Michael Alan Wingrove, 73, went to be with the Lord on January 6th, 2021. He was born in Parkersburg, WV, on February 17th, 1947 and was the son of the late Willadene and Bill Wingrove. He is the oldest brother to Rod Wingrove of Vincent, OH and Debbie Alloway of Beverly Hills, Florida.

The past few years he battled many serious medical issues. Just like he dealt with all experiences of life, Mike managed his illness with courage, strength and grace. He wanted to spend as much time with his wife, children and grandchildren as possible. One of his biggest accomplishments was being a husband to his wife, dad and grandfather. He was unendingly proud of Michelle McCauley (Wes McCauley), Robi Wingrove (Sheena Wingrove), Julie Kowalski (Scott Kowalski), his grandchildren, Hank Wells, Regan and Evan Wingrove, Zane and Broc Kowalski, and great-grandchildren Eli and Zay Wells and his wife Sandra. Family came first to Mike. The hole left by his absence is impossible to fill.

Mike graduated from Warren High School in 1965 and went on to serve in the US Air Force. He took pride in serving his country and community. He was a member of the Belpre, OH, Jaycees, Shriners and Masons. He loved transporting children to the Shriners Hospital for medical care and treatment.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also loved animals and his cat Tiger. His favorite song was by Elvis, “I Did It my Way”. This is how he lived his life. Some may even say he was lovingly stubborn.

Mike went on to have a career as a building contractor. When it came to building houses, Mike was the best in the business and he loved doing it! Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Taken too soon but never forgotten. He fought a tough battle. His family and friends will always miss his sense of humor, his smile, hugs and laughter.
