Max Adler Taliaferro, 79, of Ringgold passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023. He was born on April 3, 1943 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Francis and Nellie Taliaferro. He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Gunnery SGT. Max also worked for Lockheed Martin and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and swimming.
 
He was preceded in death by his son, Max Taliaferro, Jr.; brother, Norman Taliaferro; sisters, Nancy Daniels, Anita Taliaferro, Francis Taliaferro and Nellie Taliaferro.
 
Survivors include his loving wife Linda Taliaferro; daughters, Sonya Phillips and Kim Kile; sisters, Connie McCluskey and Pandora Robertson; brother, Bob Daniels; grandchildren, Josh and Aimee Phillips; great-grandchildren, Cameron Poe, Conner Phillips, Brooklyn Phillips and Mason Phillips; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services will be 12 PM, Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
 
The family will receive friends 4-8 PM, Monday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
