Matthew Floyd

Matthew Darwin Floyd, 47, of East Ridge, went home to be with the Lord Monday, October 19, 2020. He was a lifelong resident of East Ridge. Matt was a graduate of East Ridge High School class of 1992 and Chattanooga State. He was the Hamilton County School Bus owner/operator of Bus # 85 for about 25 years. Matt loved his students as his own. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 755 in East Ridge, the Alhambra Shrine Center, O’Possum Creek Shrine Club, and the Red Fez Shrine Club in Soddy Daisy. Matt loved fixing golf carts, hanging out on the lake and spending time with his family and friends. He never met a stranger and was always there to lend a helping hand.
 
He was preceded in death by his sister Beth Floyd.
 
Survivors include his loving wife of 7 years, Tonia Floyd, daughter Katelyn “KK” Miller, son, Isaac (Addison) Miller; parents Pete and Maryelinor Floyd, sister Melissa (Bart) Hulsey of Atlanta, niece Katie Hulsey Perkins (Chad), nephew Ben Hulsey and little brother Jonah Lea Cannon, and great nephews Mason and Morgan Perkins of Atlanta.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Clinton officiating.
Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East. Honorary pallbearers will be the Shriners and the Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends 12-8 PM Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
