Mary Nell Mitchell, 86, of Fort Oglethorpe went home to be with Lord on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. She was born on May 9, 1935 in Centre, Alabama to the late Reece and Ora White and had been a member at Cloud Springs Baptist Church for over 60 years. Mrs. Mitchell was retired from BellSouth after over 35 years of service. She enjoyed gardening and loved to spend time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Earl Mitchell; brother, Wendell White; sisters, Dennie Hankins and Paulette Betts.
Survivors include her sister, Melba Taylor; nephews, Tim Taylor and Wade Taylor; niece, Kim (Brian) Swanson; great-nephew, Timmy Taylor; great-nieces, Erica Sherwood and Whitney Burston; along with numerous other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and her friends at BellSouth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday at Cloud Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Gardner officiating. The body will lie-in-state an hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family would also like to the thank the staff at NHC Fort Oglethorpe and Caris Healthcare Hospice for all the care they gave to Mary Nell Mitchell.
