Mary Jo Tabor “Mammaw” Key, 88, of Ringgold, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at her residence. Mary was born at Owens Crossroads, AL, a daughter of the late Grady and Mary Hill Tabor. She was a member of the Church of Christ and loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family and others. Mary Jo was a servant of God. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Maples, Altha Ikard, Lucille Dalton, and Florene Hall.
Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Leon Key (retired from Combustion); son, Jerry Douglas (Lana) Key, Ringgold; daughter, Darlene Key Leach, Ringgold; grandchildren, James “Jason” Alexander (Chelsea) Key, Johnny Douglas (Melissa) Key, Joanna Grace (Matt) Lewis, Joy Patrice (Josh Key), Jessi Cora Mercy (Chris) Banister, Josiah Leon (Chloe) Key, James “Jay” Robbins (Jen) Leach, Christina “Chrissy” Janell (Josh) Pellom; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12 noon, Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Perry Hurst officiating. Interment will be in Panquin Cemetery in Grant, AL (approx. 2:30 PM EST 1700 Cottonville Dr Grant, AL 35747).
