Mary Ella Kellogg Williams, 88, of Chattanooga passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2019 at her residence. Mary was born on July 13, 1930 in Algood, Tennessee. She lived most of her life in the Chattanooga area and was a 1948 graduate of Chattanooga Central High School, where she enjoyed using her vocal talents to perform in the Glee Club and several musicals. She had been a faithful member of Lookout Valley Baptist Church since 1963, was a member of the Golden Circle Sunday School Class, and sang in the choir. Always a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary loved to cook for and entertain family on Sundays and holidays. She always made sure to take care of others before herself.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, M.M. “Bud” Williams to whom she was married for 62 years; parents, Harry and Nettie Kellogg; three brothers, Rev. Billy Kellogg, Harvey Kellogg, and Rev. Harry Kellogg, Jr.; and two sisters, Helen Sewell and Sarah Elizabeth Kellogg.
She is survived by her daughters, Alicia (Bill) Ryan and Cheryl (Ivan) Wilson; grandchildren, Emily (Corey) Weathers, Adam (Rachel) Ryan, and Lindsay (Stephen) Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Ethan Weathers, Caroline Weathers, Isaac Ryan, Eden Ryan, and another due in January; sisters-in-law, Willene Wyse and Doris Cole; and several nieces and nephews.
