Lydia Kay Patat of Chattanooga passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 after a brave and brief battle with cancer.

Born November 14, 1944 in Royston, GA, she was the daughter of Emma Lula Kay Patat McBath and Harry Patat.

She is preceded in death by both parents, step-father Jim McBath Sr, and brother, George Patat. She is survived by her son, Kurt Patat of Los Angeles; brother,Jim McBath Jr and sister, Mary McBath of Carnesville, GA; adored nieces and nephews; numerous “adopted” children, dear friends; grand-pup Brady; and her beloved dog, Toby, who rarely left her side.

For more than four decades, Kay served as the regional laboratory director for Parkridge Medical Center where she mentored countless colleagues, and always put the patient first.

She was an avid reader and loved the beach, especially sunsets.
