Lydia Martinez, 92, of Rossville went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 18, 2022. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 27, 1930, a daughter of the late John and Segunda Murphy Garcia.
She moved from New York to Puerto Rico then to Chattanooga to work for IBM where she retired after 30 years of service.
Lydia was a member of the Fort Oglethorpe United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Narciso Martinez.
Survivors are her loving children, Mark ( Carmen) Lebron, Rebecca ( Norberto) Garcia, and Livia (Mark ) Michaels; nine grandchildren, Anthony ( Amber) Lebron, Jorge (Amber) Lebron, Lynette ( Fernando) Lebron, Michael ( Katherine) Perez, Joshua Perez, Christina ( Jared) Gaston, Shawnté ( Kyle) Vivian, Matthew Michaels and Isabella Michaels, and 4 great grandchildren. And one on the way.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Max Navarro officiating.
Interment in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
