Laura Jean Berg, 74, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 5, 2017.

     Born, Laura Jean Knudsen in Brooklyn, NY on October 19, 1942, the second of three children born to Agnes and Alfred who preceded her in death as did her sister, Lois, and brother, Warren.   

     Laura was a graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her RN degree in 1963, the same year that she married her teenage sweetheart, Ken, on August 24th.  She was a devout Christian, having given her life to the Lord in her teenage years; a loving wife, mother, foster mother, and grandmother.  During her life, she worked part time in several hospitals, did home care, served on the women’s resource team at church, and lived a life consumed with knowing Christ and making Him known througha her example as a Godly woman.  Her marriage to Ken was a fairy tale love affair that began in their teen years and only grew stronger as the years went by. 

Laura is survived by her husband of almost 54 years, Ken; four children; Cheryl, husband Mark; Nancy, husband Evan; Karen, husband, Norman; Andrew, wife Katie; eleven grandchildren; Jared, Cailee, Noelle, Kyle, Logan, Luke, Leighton, Connor, Clara, Molly and Grayson.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel, Saturday, August 12, at 10 AM with Pastor Jared August and Pastor Michael Kirby officiating.  Laura will be laid to rest at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Ringgold, GA.
