John Robert Harper, Jr., 73, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord Monday, December 28, 2020. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga/North Georgia area, and a member of Boynton United Methodist Church for over 30 years. John was the CEO of Southern Credit Union. John enjoyed history, Celtic music, and reading in his free time. He was a member of the Masonic Quitman Lodge #106 in Ringgold where he served as the treasurer and Past Master. More than anything John enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
John was preceded in death by his parents John Robert Harper, Sr. and Mary Ramsey Harper, brother Steve Harper, and sister Judy Harper Merriman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kay Harper, son Zach Harper of Ringgold, daughter Ashley Harper of Nashville, grandchildren Addison and Reaghan Ard, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral and Masonic services will be held 11 AM Friday January 15, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Dennis Stewart officiating.
Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. Pallbearers will be Michael Best, Thomas Harper, David Helton, Greg Grayson, Will Mills, and Eddie Vinson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetic Association.
