Joe Wayne Varnon

Joe Varnon, 73, of Rossville went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 8, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Rossville. Joe retired from the Atlanta Journal Constitution after 27 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating and spending time with his family. In his younger years he enjoyed horseback riding.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Hill Varnon, son Andrew (Robin) Varnon of Waterford, Michigan, brother Jim (Trisha) Varnon of Ringgold, and sister Faye Roach of Rossville.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Red and Myra Varnon and brothers Jerry and Phillip Varnon.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ricky Gravley officiating.

Interment in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
