Joe Hudson

April 19, 1943 ~ July 27, 2020 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Tribute

On July 27th after courageously battling Multiple Myeloma for 12 years, Joe Hudson’s

body could no longer keep up with his spirit. He left this world filled with gratitude for life

and his family. He was 77.

He told his grandson, “You can’t unwind a watch, you have to make the most of the time

you have left.” That’s exactly what he did. He filled the lives of those who knew him with

wonderful memories. Fishing, Tennessee football, sunrises over the lake, the 4th of July

and fireworks, fish fry’s and anything that involved family made him the happiest. He

was a loving and compassionate friend to all.

Joe retired from TVA after 42 years of service. One of his most enjoyable life

experiences was as a trained crew member fighting forest fires out west. Nature was

his church, and he loved sharing its good word with those closest to him. He was a long

time member of the Highland Sportman’s Club.

He said his family was his proudest legacy. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years,

Judy. High school sweethearts and starting young with a family, they stayed together

during tough and trying times. He credited Judy for his success and family’s closeness.

He is also survived by his children: Kim (Joe Dan) White; Kristy (Lucius) Caywood; Billy

(Tondee) Hudson; and his grandchildren Rush Hudson Feldhacker, Connor Cayson,

Kate Boleware, Will Hudson, and Ben Hudson. He also leaves behind five brothers, two

sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who adored him.

Joe said “if you have a job to do, do it in a way that you are proud to stamp your name

on it”. He can proudly stamp his name on the life he lived and the legacy he left.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private celebration of life will be held at a future

date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society at heschatt.org

or a charity of your choosing.
