Jimmy Edward Cox, 73, of Rock Spring went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at his home. He was a life-long resident of Rock Spring and a member of Center Grove Baptist Church. Jimmy retired from Combustion Engineering after more than 30 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved fishing, gardening, the Georgia Bulldogs, his bird, Grace and his family. He was preceded in death by his father, James (JR) Richard Cox and brothers, Clyde and Ricky Cox.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Cox; mother, Agnes Cox, Rock Spring; daughters, Jamie (Jason) Chambers, Ringgold and Tiffany (Dustin) Richards, Ft. Oglethorpe; brother, Claude Cox, LaFayette; sisters, Linda Alexander, Joyce Parker and Darlene Blaylock, all of Rock Spring; grandchildren, Jarrett, Lucas, Jaxon, Ashlyn and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patrick Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the LaFayette Memory Gardens.
