Jerry “Grumpy” Michael Morris, Sr., 73, went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 6, 2019. Born November 28, 1945, he was the son of the late Fred E. Morris and Francis Bass Morris. Jerry was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and the owner of A & A Investigations for 35 years. He was a longtime member of Woodland Park Baptist Church, and a recent member of Anchor of Hope Baptist Church. Jerry was heavily involved in the Fort Oglethorpe community, serving as a volunteer firefighter for 20 years and Police Officer for 21 years. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and an original member of the Chattanooga Boys Choir. Jerry was a hardworking and caring man who never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sherry Morris, daughters Lori (Heath) Jones of Walterboro, SC and Gina Blevins of Ringgold, Son J.J. (Betsy) Morris of Franklin, TN, Sister Debbye (Jason) Thrasher of Louisville, KY, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, at Anchor of Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Haney and Rev. Bruce Daugherty officiating.
