Jean (Shankle) Stephens

Carolyn "Jean" Stephens, 87, of Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 23, 2021 peacefully at her home. She was a native of Tampa, Florida, a daughter of the late Harvey and Vashti Shipley Shankle. She grew up working in the Shankle florist family business. She had lived in Atlanta and Blairsville before retiring to Ringgold 22 years ago. She was a member at Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle. She loved gardening, working with her flowers and birdwatching, particularly Hummingbirds and Cardinals.

Survivors include her son, Mark Freeman of Ooltewah, TN; daughters, Cheryl (Ben) Pitman of Flintstone and Cindy Freeman of Cleveland, TN; brother, Harvey Shankle, Jr. of New Bern, NC; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 11 AM Monday at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Bro. Donnie Brown officiating.
