James R. “BooBoo” Dixon passed from this world to his heavenly home on February 2, 2020, with his wife, family and friends by his side. James was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend to many.
James, a graduate of the University of Virginia, was a successful businessman, first in banking, having worked his way from collections, to branch manager to President of Sun Trust and Merchants Bank of Cleveland. Next, owning and operating a multi-state business, Candy Works USA, for over 25 years.
Nothing was more important to James than his family and his many friends. He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Rhonda Stair Dixon; children Jaime Dixon and J.R. “Jason” Dixon; grandchildren, Jaxon and Lilly. Also surviving, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Lamar Haun, their children, Alex, Robert (Julie) and great-nephews Andrew, Ryan and Nathan; beloved cousins, Renee Brookshire Treadway, Stephanie (Bill) Brookshire Eberle, Alex and Lucas. In addition, James treasured his friendships with his school, ball-player, golf and poker buddies.
James and family attend Peavine Baptist Church, Rock Springs GA.
A funeral service will be 11 AM Friday in the funeral home chapel.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 6 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the 11 AM service on Friday February 7 at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway, Fort Oglethorpe, GA.
