Message from Billy Brooks, Gordon Lee Class of 1974

Hope,
Please accept my sincere sympathies in the passing of your dad. He employed me at North Georgia Electric during the summers of my first two years of college (DJC). Also, he coached the Gordon Lee alumni football team I played on. He was always very kind and generous to me. I considered him a good friend and fine man. We even golfed some together. You would have thought I had dated his daughter. I think of him and those good days back then often. My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Linda, Jenny and your mom. May God bless and comfort your entire family with special memories. Billy Brooks, Brunswick, GA

During Jims life with us he was able to achieve many things this world offered. But what was most important to him among all the things he achieved was his marriage to his dear wife Peggy. We were able to witness 62 years of a couples love for each other. No other achievement can be more important in Gods eyes. Peggy nothing can replace the loving memories you both shared with each other. In a world where so many marriages end in just a few years. you both proved that it can last for many. We've taken notice of it and God has as well. Peggy here is his promise to you in regards to your dear husband Jim. "Do not be amazed at this because the hour is coning in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his ( Jesus, voice ) and come out" ( John 5:28,29 )Yes God has made a promise to return our love ones we loss in death, to a better condition world. We will keep your family in our prayers.

Uncle Jim was such a bright spot in our lives, we enjoyed so much the times we spent together and have many fond memories of visits and travel with him and Aunt Peggy. He never knew a stranger and was always so welcoming to all. We have been blessed to have him in our lives. Our prayers go out to all of his family at this time and our hearts are with you in the coming days and months. Love to all of you.
