James “Jim” Davis Varnon, 74, of Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home. He was a life-long resident of the Lakeview/Ringgold area. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for 6 years as a Signalman Petty Officer 3rd Class. Jim was a member of GraceWorks Church in Chattanooga. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and was a master craftsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Myra Varnon; brothers, Jerry Varnon, Joe Varnon and Phillip Varnon.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Trisha Varnon; son, Jerry Varnon; daughters, True Varnon and Leah (Milton) Huber; granddaughter, Kayla Varnon; sister, Faye Roach; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bill Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
