James Vincent Appugliese Jr., 64, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020. James was born to the late James Sr. and Emma Appugliese, February 8, 1956, in Munich, Germany. He was a graduate of Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe Class of 1974. James lived most of his life in Chattanooga serving and retiring from the Chattanooga Police Department after 33 years with the force. During his service, Sergeant Appugliese was wounded twice in the line of duty, awarded the Medal of Valor and Purple Heart, and was a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
James is survived by his wife of 20 years, Teresa Appugliese; two sons, James Appugliese, Ringgold, and Jonathan Appugliese (Breanna), Athens, GA.; stepsons, Shane Hubbard (Megan), East Ridge, and Russell Hubbard (Shannon), Naples Italy; two brothers Roy Appugliese (Lisa), Maryville, TN., and Joseph Appugliese Sr., Hixson, TN; two sisters, Valerie Bowers (Don), Chattanooga, Julia Rambo (John), Ringgold, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the Appugliese family asks that donations be made to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund or similar organizations.
