Jake Bowman

Jacob Olin Bowman “Jake”, 83, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday February 2, 2021. Jake was a native of Catoosa County GA. He was a son of the late Olin and Eunice Byrd Bowman. Jake was a veteran of the USAF and retired from Brown and Root Construction Company after 25 years of service. He was the former owner of Bowman’s Grocery Store, and retired from Catoosa Utility District where he had served 18 years on the Board of Directors. He also served as the City Manager for the City of Ringgold.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Duke Bowman.

Survivors include his daughters Rebecca (Kelly) Holcomb of Ringgold and Beth Bowman of Cedar Bluff, AL, brother Pete (Beverly) Bowman of Rock Spring, GA, sisters Beatrice (Bobby) Presley of Ringgold, Betty (Robert) Lomax of Deer Park, TX, three grandchildren Crymson (Jonathan) Eller, Christopher Bryson, and Lindsey Holcomb, all of Ringgold, and three great-grandchildren Christopher Bryson II, and Sophia and Zoe Eller. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 3 PM Friday at Burning Bush Baptist Church with Colin Crosen officiating.

Interment will be in the Burning Bush Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 4-8 PM Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
