Gurney Charles Beard

Gurney Charles Beard, 83, Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.  Gurney was born in Chattanooga, TN, August 26, 1935 and was raised by his grandparents Lillie and Moes Beard.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War.  Mr. Beard worked for National Linen Service for 25 years then served as the pastor of several churches in the Tennessee, North Georgia community. 

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lottie Jones Beard; son, Darren Beard, Red Bank; daughters, Teresa Watson, Hixson, Gale Hale, Rossville, and Rhonda Lemons, Rossville; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Friday, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randy Chestnut and Rev. Jeff Howell officiating.  A private interment will be in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
