Geraldine (Smith) Brooks

Geraldine Smith “Granny” Brooks of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on September 11, 2019, after a short illness.  Gerry was born September 18, 1936, in LaFayette, GA, to the late Roy and Wilma Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Campbell Crutchfield Brooks, Sr., and an infant son, Byron Ellington Brooks.

Gerry was a member of Graysville United Methodist Church and was retired after more than 30 years of service from U.S. Pipe and Foundry and more recently from East Ridge Eye Center. She served as a volunteer in the Chattanooga Area Swim League for all the years her sons participated in competitive swimming. She was not only a loving and devoted mother and a proud, doting grandmother, but she was blessed with a very kind, loving and generous spirit.

Gerry is survived by her sons Campbell (Valerie) Brooks, Jr., and Chris (Carla) Brooks, grandchildren Jessica and Hannah Brooks of Ringgold, Dr. Madison Brooks (Sarah) of Charleston, S.C., Jasley and Kealoha Brooks of Ringgold, her twin brother William Gerald (Sue) Smith, niece Donna Morrow and nephew Jimmy Smith.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 13, from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
