George Irwin Wisner, 99, of Ringgold went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home. He was born in Chicago, IL on June 11, 1921 to the late Leo and Bertha Wisner. He had served in the U.S. Army Air Forces as an airplane mechanic during World War II and was stationed in Brazil. Mr. Wisner graduated from Tennessee Temple University and served as a Missionary in Brazil for 50 years; his life was always centered in doing the Lords will. He was a member at Stanley Heights Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Nadine Srigley, whom passed away in 1961 and his second wife, Marina Toso; he is also preceded in death by his eight siblings.
Survivors include his loving children, Edith (John) Nadine O’Donoghue, Esther (David) Jean Ott, Jonathan (Victoria) David Wisner and Martha Hostetter; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Stanley Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Brent Baughman officiating. The body will lie-in-state an hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
