Gene Chambers

Harvey Eugene “Gene” Chambers, 89, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 5, 2018.  Gene was born November 5, 1928, in Bowdon, GA, to the late Rev. George and Nelle Chambers.  He was a resident of the Ringgold community for the past 12 years and was a member at Boynton United Methodist Church.  He retired from A & P Tea Company after 41 years serving as their regional transportation manager.  Gene was preceded in death by his two brothers, Rev. George Chambers and Alvin Chambers.

Mr. Chambers is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Bishop Chambers; daughter, Nell (Rev. Rick) Maeser, McDonough, GA; and grandchildren, Lydia and Philip Maeser.

Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Thursday, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randy Walworth officiating.  Interment services will be Friday, 2 PM, in Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA with Rev. Bill Jackson officiating.
