Frances "Big Mama" Nell Travis

Frances Nell “Big Mama” Travis, 91, of Rossville went home to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. She was a life-long resident of North Georgia and a long time faithful member of Anchor of Hope Baptist Church. She was retired from 3M after 33 years of service and enjoyed attending the retirement luncheons. Mrs. Travis loved spending time with her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Whaley; grandson, Jody Whaley; four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Bill Travis; daughter, Pat (Richard) Wilson; grandchildren, Michelle (David) Boyd, Wendy (Barry) Kuykendall, Jeff Whaley and Missy (Gabe) Kirk; six great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

A special thanks to Tapestry Hospice and her private caregivers.

A private graveside service will be held at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Bennett officiating.
