Frances Lee Castleberry Purcell, 94, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, May 09, 2018. Frances was born December 29, 1923 to the late Edwin Thomas and Velma Leo Winters Castleberry. She was married for 68 years to the late Robert L. Purcell. Frances graduated from Ider High School. She was a faithful member of Lakeview First Baptist Church. Frances loved working in her yard and also volunteering at Orange Grove Center. She was also preceded in death by her son, Larry L. Purcell, and brother, Maurice N. Castleberry.
Frances is survived by son, Robert D. Purcell (Sandra); daughter, Janice E. Purcell; granddaughter, Deana Burelle (Dan); grandson Robert (Chip) Purcell (Erica); great-granddaughters Anslee McGlocklin and Brittany Portwood; great-grandson, Will Purcell; and brother, E. T. Castleberry, Jr. (Jeanette).
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11, at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patrick Cooper and Dr. Leroy Spinks officiating. Interment will be in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Fidelis Class of Lakeview First Baptist Church.
