Frances Lanier, 93, of Fort Oglethorpe, passed away April 12, 2021 at her home.
She was born in Lafayette, Ga the daughter of the late Lee and Nellie Corbin of Lafayette. She thoroughly enjoyed her life as a wife and mother of three girls. Mrs. Lanier was a member at Cloud Springs Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was known for her cooking and especially her turkey & dressing on major holidays. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds. She enjoyed quilting and operated a quilting business for several years.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years Edward Lanier, grandson, Michael (Kim Baxter) Killingsworth; granddaughter, Casie (Todd) Cassell; brothers, Lloyd and Ralph Corbin.
She is survived by three daughters Jeanette (Tommy) Killingsworth, Annette (Buddy) Willis and Gloria (Steve) Dickert, granddaughter Amy Bales, grandsons Shaun (Amanda) Dickert, Brian (Julie) Willis, Ryan (Leah) Dickert and Evan (Jessica) Dickert, great-grandchildren Brittany (Joshua) Holloway, Wesley Roach, Madeline Bales, Tyler Killingsworth, Kaighan Cassell, Brylee Willis, Kaylee Mix, Avery Dickert, Conor Dickert, Rowen Dickert, great-great-grandchildren Allie and Emma Holloway. She is also survived by two sisters, Kathleen Silvers and Faye Wooten and three brothers, George, Jerry and Floyd Lee Corbin.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful care. We are especially thankful for the love and care by Shelia Holmes over the last six months.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 17, 11 am- 1 pm with the funeral to follow at 1 pm with Dr. Greg Collins officiating. Pall Bearers include Brian Willis, Wesley Roach, Tyler Killingsworth, Shaun Dickert, Ryan Dickert and Evan Dickert.
