Evelyn McGill Taylor McClure

Evelyn McGill Taylor McClure, of Chickamauga, Georgia passed on from this life June 19, 2021, at her home. She was 94 years old and had lived in Walker County Georgia her entire life. She was a member of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church. Evelyn was a talented hairdresser, seamstress, master quilter, knitter, crocheter, and other artistic hobbies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Ollie Wall, husbands Frank McGill, Sr., Perry Taylor and Dewey McClure. Her beloved four sisters, Frances, Margaret, Wilena and Wanda also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Jerris (Greg) Lane, Frank McGill, Jr., and Merry Miller. Grandchildren, Eric Taylor, Marty (Heatherly) Taylor, Lee (Kim) Miller, Paul (Jane) Miller, Aaron and Chad Wofford, several nieces and nephews, and eleven great-grandchildren. Her adopted family of caregivers and special friends, Linda Staggs, Breona Peters, Carol Arnold, Amanda Gaddis, Marilyn Ford and Jean Creekmore also survive her.

The family is very grateful to Megan Bryson and Dr. William Horton of Hearth Hospice for their compassionate and responsive care during Evelyn’s illness.

Funeral services to celebrate and honor the life of Evelyn will be 2 PM, Monday, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Zach Fitzpatrick officiating.  Interment will be at City of LaFayette Cemetery.
