Evelyn Elizabeth Hood, 87, of Rossville went home to be with the Lord Monday, November 9, 2020. Evelyn was born January 3, 1933 to the late Elvin and Edith Boling Vandergriff. She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and of the Baptist faith. She worked as Director over the Southern Stars Beauty and Talent Agency. The only things she loved more than going out to eat and watching Judge Judy was spending time with her loving family.
She is preceded by her loving husband of 51 years, James Hood; daughter, Brenda Gail Hood; brothers, James and Herman Vandergriff; sister, Vivian Young.
Survivors include her sons, Waymond and Charles Hood; grandchildren; Shannon (Sean) Horton, Josh (Brandy) Hood, Joseph (Megan) Hood, Jamie (Clay) Patterson, Chuck Hood, Felicity Cates, Eric (Kim) Turner and Matthew Turner; great-grandchildren, Jordan Shipley, Alisha Shipley, Sway Horton, Jacob Hood, Ashlyn Hood, Johnna Patterson, Josie Patterson, Conrad Patterson, Ezekial Hood, Hannah Hood and Landon Hood; great-great grandchildren, Hazel Rivera and Addisyn Bryan; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.
