Eugene Otis Schermerhorn

Eugene O. Schermerhorn, age 83, passed away on November 18, 2022.  Predeceased by his wife of 52 years Judith R. Schermerhorn (nee Davenport) and his parents Wayne and Martha Schermerhorn (nee Merritt).  He is survived by daughter Candace Schermerhorn and grandchildren James Flores (Mugdha) and Alicia Street (Christopher), son Paul Schermerhorn (Tara) and grandson Parker, and son Duane E. Schermerhorn (Jill C.) and granddaughter Neely Godfrey (Kenyon).  

Faithful servants to the Lord, Judy and Gene spent countless years teaching at Seventh-Day Adventist schools in several states.  

Following Eugene’s wishes, there will be a simple cremation.  Interment will be without ceremony at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Gene and Judy being placed side by side. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the local Seventh-Day Adventist Church Education fund.
