Ethel Ione (Ellison) Courtney

Ethel Ione “Onie” Courtney, 87, of Rock Spring, GA passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at a local nursing facility. Ethel was the daughter of Clarence and Minnie Ellison of the Waggoner Riffle Community. A native of Adams County, Ohio, she spent most of her life in West Union, but was a resident of the North Georgia community for the past 20 years. Ethel knew the Lord, was a terrific cook, loved reading cooking magazines and going to yard sales. Ethel was a friend to everyone and a very loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Courtney.

Survivors include her daughter Linda (Daniel) Wilson, Rock Spring; grandchildren, Tina (Jeff) Young, Tunnel Hill and Tammy Nesbit, Rock Spring; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Cody Givens, Dalton, Taylor and Eric Phillips, Rocky Face, Sarah Nesbit, Orlando, FL and Caroline Nesbit, Lafayette and great-great-grandson, Logan Phillips, Rocky Face.

A private service will be held at a later date.
