Emma "Lois" Morgante

Emma “Lois” Morgante, 90, of Ringgold, formerly of Yonkers, New York, went home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2018.  Born in Whitwell, Tennessee, on May 19, 1928 she moved to Yonkers after her marriage to Rinaldo “Rene” Morgante in 1947.  Rene preceded Lois in death in 2003 after 55 years of marriage.  She was a longtime member of the South Presbyterian Church in Yonkers where she served as an elder and on various committees.  Lois was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, Pleasantside Chapter #241 and Ringgold Chapter #245.  She was also a member of the Chaminade Music Club of Yonkers.  Lois was a legal secretary for Degenstein & Shapiro, a Yonkers law firm, for many years.  She retired from the Andrus Senior Residence in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.  Lois had recently attended the First Presbyterian Church Fort Oglethorpe for the past 10 years.  She is preceded in death by brothers, William C. Moore, James L. Moore, and Charles Lee Moore, and sister, Sylvia Jean White.  

Lois is survived by her sister, Nadine Holtcamp, of Hixson, TN, and several dear nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Richard Fisher officiating.  Interment will be 11 AM, Tuesday, at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY.
