Elsie Keown Key

Elsie Keown Key, 92, of Ringgold died on Sunday morning, June 7, 2020 after a brief illness. She was a long time member of the Boynton Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir and helped with the church accounting and was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class.

She and her husband loved to travel; they lived in Arizona for a while where she worked in the school system. They also managed a motel in Florida and were members of a camping group. Here she worked in the office of Machineco and later in the office of the Fort Oglethorpe Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Key; mother, Myrtle Gagnon; sister, Mary Ervin; and brothers, Frank Keown and Clarence Baker.

Survivors include her daughter, Gloria (Jim) Harris; grandsons, James Gregory (Katie) Harris and Brian Christopher Harris (Sandra); along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Keith McLeod officiating. Interment will be private in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
