Martha "Ellen" Ray Hackett, 79, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019. Ellen was born April 29, 1939, in Panama City, FL, to the late Robert and Margaret Ray. She was a devout and Godly Christian woman who was filled by the Holy Spirit. Ellen enjoyed many activities including gardening, traveling, music, sewing, decorating, motorcycle riding, and sharing in conversation with friends and family. She will be remembered for her beauty inside and out, the care she gave others, her patience, and the love she gave as a wife and mother. She is preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Ray.
Survivors are her loving husband of 60 years, Frank Hackett; daughters, Margaret (Marty) Pearson, Gatlinburg, TN, Michelle (Trey) Wheeler, Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Alison (Aaron) Kiser, Alex Pearson, Chase Pearson, Crosby (Jeanie) Wheeler, Garrison Wheeler, Sullivan Wheeler, Callaway Wheeler; and great-grandchildren, Zaiden, Adriel, and Emmalyn.
A service celebrating the life of Ellen Hackett will take place Thursday, 1 PM, at Forest Lawn Gardens in Anniston, AL with Reverend Wm. Bruce Teal officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the time of the service in the cemetery’s chapel.
